In order to achieve sustained change, we work with individuals, teams and organizational leadership concurrently. This enables us to build the skills and collective capacity to manage complexity and to achieve strategic, financial and ecological sustainability.
Stage 1 – Clarify leadership intent
We typically begin our work with an organisation’s leadership team. Through facilitated dialogue we explore the reasons for Sustainability Strategy and its relationship with core business. We guide leaders on the process most organizations move through as they become more sustainable and what this entails from a cultural, social, economic and ecological perspective.
Stage 2 – Assessment
We work with our partners to measure and assess the current performance of an organisation. This includes a Greehouse Gas Assessment, energy, water, waste and procurement practices. We include a review of Corporate Social Responsibility activities and the cultural health of an organisation in relation to various dimensions of sustainability.
Stage 3 – Strategy
Using the data from Stage 2, we work with leadership and other stakeholders to craft a strategic approach to sustainability. We explore vision and values and the role they play in Sustainability Strategy and establish objectives, targets and action plans to enable any organisation to achieve its aims. We ensure outcomes are realistic, achievable and planned with the greatest likelihood of success. We also guide the development of systems to capture and manage data.
Stage 4 – Skilling and engagement
Using our toolkit and programs, we work throughout the organisation and with stakeholders to skill and equip organizations for change. This is what sets Sustainability Coach apart, our capacity to build engagement and capacity for sustainability outcomes. We harness the passion and collective energy of workforces for great results.
Stage 5 – Measure, monitor and improve
As Sustainability Coaches, we drive Sustainability Strategy through an ongoing focus on established targets, holding stakeholders to account. Outcomes require ongoing dialogue and the continued development of personal and interpersonal commitment towards a shared vision and goals. We measure and assess performance against benchmarks and encourage our clients to include progress data in key meetings, from the leadership team to the front line.
